Description
Ellanjey presents Jeytem-125 Oral Suspension, a paediatric-friendly formulation of Cefuroxime Axetil Oral Suspension USP containing 125mg of Cefuroxime (as anhydrous) per 5ml. Cefuroxime Axetil is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with an excellent broad-spectrum activity profile and enhanced stability against beta-lactamase enzymes produced by many bacteria.
Cefuroxime Axetil is a prodrug – it is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and rapidly hydrolyzed to its active form, Cefuroxime, which works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to rapid bacterial cell death. As a second-generation cephalosporin, Cefuroxime offers expanded Gram-negative coverage compared to first-generation cephalosporins, while maintaining good activity against Gram-positive organisms. It is particularly effective for respiratory tract infections, ear infections, and sinusitis in children.
