Description
ELLANCLAV-ES by Ellanjey is a high-strength, broad-spectrum antibiotic oral suspension that combines Amoxycillin (a penicillin-class antibiotic) and Potassium Clavulanate (a beta-lactamase inhibitor) in a higher concentration of 642.9 mg per 5 ml. This “ES” (Extra Strength) formulation is specifically designed for patients with moderate to severe bacterial infections or those caused by beta-lactamase-producing resistant bacteria that would not respond to standard-dose amoxycillin-clavulanate.
Many bacteria produce an enzyme called beta-lactamase that destroys amoxycillin before it can kill them. Clavulanate potassium inactivates this enzyme, “shielding” the amoxycillin and allowing it to reach and destroy the bacteria. The higher strength of Ellanclav-ES provides intensified therapy for more serious infections requiring higher antibiotic concentrations.
Key Benefits:
-
High-Strength Formulation (642.9 mg/5 ml) – For moderate to severe bacterial infections requiring intensive therapy.
-
Dual Action Against Resistant Bacteria – Amoxycillin kills bacteria; Clavulanate prevents antibiotic destruction by beta-lactamase enzymes.
-
Broader Spectrum Coverage – Effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including many resistant strains.
-
Treats Moderate to Severe Respiratory Infections – Pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis, tonsillitis, and otitis media.
-
Effective for Complicated UTI & Kidney Infections – Cystitis, pyelonephritis, and other complicated urinary tract infections.
-
Skin & Soft Tissue Infections – Cellulitis, infected wounds, diabetic foot infections, and animal bites.
FAQs:
1. What does “ES” stand for in Ellanclav-ES?
“ES” stands for Extra Strength. This formulation has a higher concentration (642.9 mg/5 ml) than standard amoxycillin-clavulanate suspensions, allowing lower volume dosing for the same antibiotic dose.
2. Is Ellanclav-ES safe for children?
Yes – children may benefit from the ES formulation because it requires less liquid volume per dose. However, dosage must be calculated based on body weight. Always follow your pediatrician’s prescription.
3. How should I store Ellanclav-ES after mixing?
After reconstitution (mixing with water), refrigerate the suspension and use within 7 days. Do not freeze. Shake well before each use.
4. What is the advantage of Ellanclav-ES over regular amoxycillin-clavulanate?
The ES formulation provides higher strength per ml, allowing patients (especially children) to receive the required dose in a smaller volume of liquid – better compliance and easier administration.
